Day 308 - No Photo
On Thursday, I just flat out forgot to take a photo. I really suck at this "Photo-A-Day" thing.
Day 307 - No Photo
I actually snapped a single quick sunset photo as I was leaving work Wednesday, but I learned a lesson. My camera was set to RAW, and I flipped the power off as soon as I snapped the photo, and all that was recorded was a black square. I didn't even double-check it because I was in such a hurry.

Day 298 - Christmas Play No. 1
This was Reece's Christmas play by his daycare class (he's the one in the foreground who looks like he's throwing something off the stage). He wasn't as much of a performer as the other kids because he was more interested in the laptop that was running the screen behind them. Don't know where he gets that from.
Day 296 - Placeholder
I have a couple of photos from Saturday in Louisville that I took with a friend's camera, but I'm waiting to get them sent to me before I can post them, so this is a placeholder for now.

Day 295 - In Louisville with No Camera
So we get to the hotel in Louisville for our daughter's swim meet Friday evening. I pull out my camera to grab a shot from our hotel window when my little Fuji informs me that there's no memory card plugged in. My mind then goes right to my desk at work back in Ashland, where there sits the reader, card still inserted. So, I tried to make due with a cell phone photo, and wow are they bad.

Day 290 - Santa Hat
I had one brief chance Sunday to get a decent shot of Reece wearing a Santa hat before he refused to wear it again, and I blew it by not having the right settings on my flash (I didn't realize I had it on 1/16th power). I tried to salvage the photo best I could, but it's really full of noise. It's still kinda cute, though.

Day 287 - Jet Streak
You'll notice I've done more than a week's worth of posts today. I kinda let myself get way behind in my posting again, partly from being busy and partly from my laptop being out for repairs for a few days see this post. Anyhow, this photo from yesterday catches me up again, and I'll try to keep up better.
Day 284 - F2
This is from Monday. It's a portion of my laptop keyboard, which is significant because I just last week got my laptop back from Apple after they did some repairs. Mine had a factory defect involving one of the RAM slots that they fixed for free despite me having the computer for more than three years. Also, to my surprise, they even replaced the keyboard after my son had completely torn off my F2 key.
I'd had the PowerBook for so long, I didn't expect them to do anything about my problems, but they went above and beyond, and that's rare these days.
Day 277 - No Photo
A lot of times, I simply forget to stop and take a photo for this thing. Nov. 19 was one of those days.

Day 274 - Park Portraits
Day 273 - MRI Unit
I had to take photos Thursday of a mobile MRI unit, so I tried to do something a little different with the lighting. I used two Nikon SB-24s fired with remotes. The first one is just inside of the door where the MRI unit is (I couldn't get too close because the magnet was on) bounced off the ceiling, and the other is behind the computer monitor with a blue gel to give some color to the scene. The flashes were on the lowest power setting possible to try and get the rest of the scene lit with the ambient lighting. It didn't turn out too bad.
