Day 225 - Big Crane

At least big for Ashland ...

Day 224 - More Flowers After Rain

It finally rained again yesterday (Thursday), so that means more good flower photos.

Day 223 - Feeding the Fish

Kenzie had a day off school for some reason today, so Lisa brought them over to Central Park to play and feed the fish in the pond.

Day 222 - Spider Silhouette

Another spider that hangs out around our garage (my 8-year-old daughter won't let me kill any of them). I knew he was way too shaded to get a good exposure, and I noticed the sunrise background, so I thought he (or she? I really don't know) might look good silhouetted. It turned out better than I thought, because you can see the little hairly looking things on his legs.

Day 221 - Misty Sunrise

I shot this from my car this morning, and it took a lot of Photoshop to get it to look halfway decent, but it didn't turn out too badly.

Day 220 - Floodlight

From Sunday.

Day 219 - Sandbox

Reece really gets into his sand table ... literally.

Day 218 - Light Bulbs

From Friday.

Day 217 - Keyboard Cover

Funky looking thing to show the Final Cut Pro key commands. It's pretty neat, though. Just fits on my existing keyboard, and I can peel it off if I want and put it back when I want.

Day 216 - Another Building

Looking straight up from under the canopy of the Heart and Vascular Center at King's Daughters Medical Center. This is from Wednesday of last week.

Some catching up to do

I'm almost a week behind on posting, so I'll try to get some up later today. I do have photos from the past week, though.

Day 215 - Building Shapes

Day 214 - No Photo

Didn't realize until today that I completely forgot to take a photo of something on Monday. Oh well.

Day 213 - Clouds and Trees

Beautiful day out Sunday.

Day 212 - Thomas and Friends

On Saturday, we journeyed to Lebanon, Ohio, to take a ride on Thomas the train ... one of Reece's favorites. At first, I questioned the rationale behind driving two and a half hours to take a 25 minute train ride, but watching the kids enjoy the ride made it way more than worth the trip.

Day 211 - Building at Sunset

This is from Friday.

Day 210 - Flowers

Purple can be a tough color to capture with a digital camera. I had to do some photoshop work to get this to about the same hue as they actually were.

Day 209 - Morning Dew

Today was the coolest morning we've had in a while, and the dew was thick.

Day 208 - Half Mast

Flags all over were at half staff Tuesday to mark the 6th anniversary of 9/11.

Day 207 - After the rain

Nothing like shooting flowers after the rain while it's still cloudy out. You get some nice light and interesting textures.

Day 206 - Look of Determination...

... or of extreme fatigue, I'm not sure which. Kenzie took part in another Triathlon on Sunday, this time at Cave Run Lake in Morehead, Ky. In fact, the parents all got involved in this one, too. For the kids, they swam 50 yards, biked for 3 miles and ran 1 mile. As for the adults, the race was a 500-yard swim, 13 mile bike and 3 mile run. My wife and I and a friend entered the race as a relay team, so we each had to do one leg of the race. My wife swam, our friend biked, and I did the run. We took second place for coed relay team ... sure there were only two coed relay teams in the event, but we don't have to tell that part, do we?

By the way, there are no photos of me running, because that would be too graphic of an image to put out there for the world to see.

Day 205 - A Watched Pot...

This would have probably made a good mystery photo, but it's a crop of a pot of water that's getting ready to boil, and the bubbles have formed along the bottom.

Day 204 - Sunrise

Nice sunrise this morning. I had to leave a little earlier than usual, so I was out in time to grab a photo of it.

Day 203 - Girls Basketball

I hadn't shot much action sports in quite a while, but that's what I did Thursday evening. A middle school gym isn't exactly the easiest place to get good action photos, either.

Day 202 - Oops ... no photo today

Had a busy day on Wednesday and completely forgot.

Day 201 - Hay Bails

Tuesday's photo.

Day 200 - Cave Run Lake

We went to Cave Run Lake in Morehead to practice for our triathlon that's coming up next week. The kids had fun playing at the beach while we all worked our butts off.

Day 199 - Rose

We have a few late-blooming roses in our yard ... or perhaps the bugs that keep eating them have finally gone away.

Day 198 - Learning to Swim

I think Reece is starting to get the hang of it.

Day 197 - Simpsons Marketing

I didn't really shoot much on Friday, but I did get mug shots of a bunch of people I work with so we could make a staff photo over at simpsonizeme.com. I'm the fourth one from the right. It's pretty fun if you want to give it a try.

Day 196 - Progress

I drive past this all the time, and finally stopped to snap a quick photo. I liked the way the backhoe arm framed the farm scene in the background. There's some symbolization there about what we sacrifice in the name of "progress."
