Day 43 - Shell of a Bug

This is a shell left behind by a locust. My daughter finds these occasionally on her playhouse and loves them.

Day 42 - Slow Picture Day

This is Wednesday's photo, and it's a closeup of a piece of cheesecake. I know, pretty lame.

Day 41 - Goodbye, Snowflake

More bad news for Kenzie today (Tuesday), as her little white pet mouse, Snowflake, passed away. She made a little tombstone for her and put flowers on her grave.

Day 40 - Broken Wrist

Following a fall on her Heelys this weekend, we found out today that Kenzie broke her wrist, and had to get a cast on it. She should be back to full speed in about four weeks, though. This is Monday's photo.

Day 39 - Sunset

I've fallen behind on my posting again, even though I've kept shooting something every day, so I'll be posting three photos today to catch myself up. This is from Sunday.

Day 38 - More Flowers

A common rule for flower photography is to not shoot down on flowers, because that's the way we normally see them. Instead, try another view. In the first shot, I'm at eye level with the flowers, but in the second shot, I thought I'd try something different, and put the camera on the ground to shoot up at them. The problem at first was the bright sky in the background made silhouettes out of the flower shapes, so I added and flash, and got a pretty dramatic effect.

Day 35 - Flowers in the Park

We went to Central Park in Ashland to play yesterday, and they have this field of daffodils planted there that are blooming.

Day 34 - Yay! Bubbles

Day 2 of having the flu, and he still doesn't seem to act very sick.

Day 33 - Sidewalk Chalk

Reece tested positive for the flu today, but you wouldn't know it by his actions. Here he is enjoying his sidewalk chalk.

Day 32 - First Star I See Tonight

This is a five-second exposure shortly after dark on Sunday evening. The longer exposure made the star in the sky shine a little brighter.

I was shooting something at a bowling alley Friday night, and they had these neat back-lit bottles up on a shelf behind the bar.

Day 29 - Little Pets

I'm way behind on my posting, but I have been taking photos every day. This one is from Thursday, and it's part of Kenzie's Littlest Pet Shop collection ... or as she says, her wobbly head pets.

Day 25 - A Walk in the Woods

Running a day behind on my posts again, but this was from yesterday. It was nice out, so we took the kids to the lake to play and walk on the nature trail.

Day 24 - Flowers & Mice

First of all, there was a flower that had actually bloomed in the yard today. It got up to around 60 out ... maybe winter's over.

Also today, another trip to the pet store.

What do you get when you let your 7 year old be in charge of dessert? Chocolate Pop-Tarts with cake frosting, of course.

Day 21 - Two-For-One Day

I couldn't decide between Shake Shoppe at Night or Speedometer for today's photo, so I decided to just throw both of them up.

Day 20 - Apple Glow

As I was getting ready for bed last night, it hit me ... I hadn't taken a photo all day. I then saw my PowerBook sitting in the dark with the Apple logo glowing brightly, so I thought that would work. It's a 5-second exposure with the camera sitting on the counter.

I'm a day behind on my posts again ... anyhow, for yesterday's shot, I'm having to do a "proud dad" photo of my daughter with her ribbon from the swim meet. Her relay team won their heat.

Today was the first day of the state YMCA swim championships in Ashland. Here's Kenzie resting up between events.

Didn't feel too well today, and I slept most of the evening, so I didn't get a chance to shoot much of anything. This is the detail of a ceramic piece we got in Mexico a few years back.
