Day 71 - Caterpillar

Kenzie loves all creatures. She got mad at her friend because she hurt a caterpillar yesterday. The one in this photo she found at our house on Thursday, and she named him Wuzzy. We, of course, had to make him a nice home in which to live.

Day 70 - Almost No Photo

I realized Wednesday night as I laid down that I hadn't taken a photo at all for the day. Just to make sure, I went and checked my camera, and the only thing from that day was this image I had snapped of my calculator on my desk while I was on the phone. It's not good by any means, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Day 68 - Clouds and Trees

Didn't shoot much Monday, but these clouds looked nice around sunset.

Day 67 - Chore list

My daughter made up a daily list of chores she could do to help us out around the house. My favorite is No. 6 ... Tiny is the name she gave to an ant she found outside that day.

Day 66 - Spring Is Here

I got behind on my posting again, but it's been so nice out, I've mainly wanted to be outside. We went to the lake on Saturday and had a picnic and let the kids throw rocks and feeds the ducks.

Day 65 - Cowboy Day & Hat Day

Today was Cowboy Day at Reece's daycare, and Hat Day for Kenzie at school. For her hat, she chose a witch hat leftover from Halloween.

Day 64 - Dogwood Bloom

Usually this time of year, the dogwoods are blooming all over the place. However, this year's freezing temperatures and snow in April have pushed them back a little. Still, some are starting to show blooms like this one I saw during a walk with Reece this evening.

Day 63 - Dangerous Toy

Our friend's daughter got her hair wrapped up in the wheels of a toy car while they were at our house. A few days earlier, our daughter did the same thing ... one of her friends was over, and instead of telling us what happened, just came and asked for some scissors. Luckily, we asked the all-important question "Why?"

In the lobby of the Marriott Griffin Gate in Lexington, Ky., on Saturday. I really haven't been shooting much the past couple of days, so the next couple of days are pretty weak.

Day 54 - The Seconds Fly By

I sat the camera down on a shelf and did a 3-second exposure of our clock, so the second hand looks blurred and shows up in different places. The blue to the left is light from the television hitting a cabinet door. I thought that looked neat, so I left it in the crop.

Day 53 - Easter clothes

These are from Sunday, so what else would I post ... the kids in their Easter duds. Reece is acting like a junior businessman, and Kenzie is showing off her cast with her dress.

Day 52 - Snow on the Ivy

We had about an inch of snow Saturday morning ... prompting the Easter egg hunt to be moved indoors.

Day 51 - Starbucks at Night

Really didn't shoot too much today (Friday), so I shot this in Huntington, W.Va. We live in a town with no Starbucks, so we always have to stop when we go by one.

Day 50 - Easter Treats

I'm behind on posting again. This is Thursday's photo. They're Easter treats my wife made for my daughter's school party. The cookie part is made of coconut shavings and made to look like a nest, then Whopper eggs are put in the middle.

Day 49 - Green leaves

Trees are starting to turn. Now if only the freezing cold we've had at night don't get them.

Day 47 - HDR sunrise

I've been fooling around with some new software that creates High Dynamic Range images, which is basically one composite photo from multiple differently exposed photos. In this sunrise photo from yesterday, normally if you expose for the sky, you get nothing but silhouettes of the trees and houses and such, or if you expose for the trees and houses, your sky completely burns out. This photo was made by taking three photos at different exposures, and then the good areas of each photo are combined to make one image.

Day 46 - Clouds at Sunset

Day 45 - Bradford Pear

The Bradford Pear tree in our front yard is covered in these little flower blossoms. This is Saturday's photo.

Day 44 - Yay! We Found One

This is from Friday. After searching for a Curious George bath bubble toy, we finally found one today. These things are apparently a hot toy, and were going on eBay for three times their retail amount, but we lucked into one at Wal-Mart.
