Day 257 - Trick or Treat night
The kids dressed up and got loaded down with candy Tuesday evening. Kenzie and Reece both originally had pirate costumes, but Reece refused to wear his, instead wanting last year's Incredibles costume.

Day 255 - Proud Dad Moment
The swim meet in Charleston, W.Va., wrapped up on Sunday, and here's Kenzie getting ready to go in for an event. She had a great meet, placing 3rd overall in one event and 5th overall in two events, plus she took considerable chunks off her fastest times in about every event. It was a competitive meet with some of the area's best swimmers taking part.
Day 254 - Grasshopper
Day 253 - Charleston, W.Va., Capitol Building
I was in Rick Lee country over the weekend as my daughter had a swim meet at the University of Charleston. Behind the school is a nice view of the capitol and the Kanawha River. Early in the day, you could get some of the reflection in the river. Later in the day, the clouds moved in, but the UC rowing team was practicing.

Day 250 - The Spaghetti Snoot Test
A shot of Reece from Tuesday using my homemade spaghetti box snoot. This makes a narrow beam of light fired from the flash, which is just to the camera left triggered by a gadget infinity remote.

Day 244 - Sign of the Times?
Wednesday's blog photo was brought to my attention by my friend Jason (literally, he took this sign down and brought it to me). It's from Morehead State University, proudly boasting that 81 percent of their students haven't driven under the influence in the past year. I guess that means close to 20 percent have, which seems like kind of a high percentage if you ask me. Not really the type of thing you want to be advertising.

Day 243 - Sunrise
Day 242 - Jellyfish
Monday's photo is of a trinket my mother brought our daughter back from the beach. It's a glow-in-the-dark jellyfish encased in a lightbulb-shaped chunk of glass. To take a photo, I went to one of the only rooms in our house where light doesn't get in (being our guest bathroom), and did an 8-second exposure at ISO 400 to get this image. It was sitting on the back of a porcelain toilet, which gave a nice reflection effect that was completely accidental.
Day 241 - No pic, again
I've been a slacker when it comes to blogging lately. No pic again on Sunday.

Day 232 - More Great Wolf
Some shots from Friday around the lodge. The top one is an overview. The second one is a detail of a hallway sconce. The whole place is a Northern wildlife theme. Pic number three is the giant water bucket that would constantly refill itself, and dump over onto the people below when it became full. Finally, there's another shot of King's Island at night. It was open on Friday night, and the lights to the rides were on. The tall pole-looking thing is the Drop Zone, and about halfway down, you can see a slight blur from where the ride has dropped.
