Day 132 - Holes

Day 131 - No photo

Blew it again. Another busy day on Monday, and I completely forgot to shoot something for the blog.

Day 130 - Another Weekend, Another Meet

Shots from Kenzie's swim meet on Sunday in Lebanon, Ohio. I've been really busy, and had to play catch-up on the photo blogging, and this post should bring me up to date.

Day 129 - Something Fishy

Koi in the pond at Central Park in Ashland, KY on Saturday.

Day 128 - Yoda on a Laptop

The only thing I shot on Friday. Just goofing around with the camera in my office ... it's been busy lately.

(For the record, that isn't my laptop. I'm a Mac person :-)

Day 127 - Sensor Dust

Dust on the sensor of a digital camera is a common problem for digital SLRs, because when you change lenses it gives dust an opportunity to get inside the camera. This, however, was taken with my Fuji F10 point and shoot, which logically should not get dust inside, because there's never any opening to the sensor. The areas in the red circle show the dust.

I looked it up on the web, and apparently other people experience this same problem. Most of the time, it's easily removed in a photo-editing program, but it's a pain to have to do that every time. With digital SLRs, you can simply take off the lens and open the shutter to clean the sensor (carefully, that is), but with a P&S, there's no way to get inside without cracking the entire casing open.

Day 126 - Desk Lamp

From Wednesday.

Day 125 bonus - Sunset

Beautiful sunset Tuesday evening.

Day 125 - No Training Wheels

Kenzie tested her new bike Tuesday evening with no training wheels. It took her a few tries, but she got the hang of it really well.

Day 124 - Power Lines

Day 123 - A good start

Anytime you're going to swim in a meet, you need to have a good breakfast, as demonstrated by Trinity and Kenzie. (They did eat some decent food before the candy).

Day 122 - Miami (Ohio) University

We were in Oxford, Ohio for a swim meet at Miami University this weekend. They have a really nice aquatics facility, plus a beautiful campus.

Day 121 - Lightning Bug

I tried my best Friday evening to get a decent shot of lightning bugs using long exposures. Finally, one flew into the frame. It's much darker out than it looks in the photo. I think this one was a three-second exposure, and that yellow blur on the right is the lightning bug. Other than cropping, this is a completely unedited photo.

Day 120 - Cone flowers

The cone flowers (Echinacea purpurea) are starting to come up in our yard. These always make for great photos.

Day 119 - The Wedding List

This is the down side to wedding photography ... trying to sort through all the photos and figure out which ones to print and what adjustments they need. I do all my initial adjustments in Adobe Lightroom, but some still need fine tuning. I've not found a better way than to just write down the ones I'm going to print with a little note if it needs further adjustments.

Day 118 - Dog in Drive-Thru

Again, the quality is pretty crappy, but I still thought this photo from Tuesday was pretty funny.

Day 117 - Monday Monkey

This is a pretty crappy photo quality wise, but it's the only thing I didn't shoot Monday that didn't involve Little League baseball/softball kids.

Day 116 - On the Farm

When it rains, it pours. Another trip to my mother-in-law's farm in Greenup County, Ky., and the place is a photo haven. In fact, there's so much there, I decided to make a web gallery of Sunday's pics so I wouldn't have to post so many on here. The one I posted was a really old tractor that they still use.

Day 115 - Future Pilots

Kenzie and Reece in the KDMC helicopter Saturday. Kenzie posed, while Reece tried to figure out which buttons started the thing.

Day 114 - Dark Clouds

This is from the window of my office. I would have like a wider view, but the overhang from the roof kept getting in the way.

Day 113 - Some Really Cool Flowers

Another event yesterday, which means more flower arrangements.

Day 112 - Spider Web

In the morning dew.

Day 111 - Yellow Flower

I'm not sure what these are called, but they're really neat looking.

Day 110 - Monday Rain

Monday, June 4, 2007

Day 109 - Tiger Lily

Sunday morning's rain really brought out the tiger lilies in my yard.

Day 108 - First Roller Coaster Ride

It was Family Fun Day at Camden Park. I only got to go for about an hour, but I got to see Reece take his first roller coaster ride.

Day 107 - The Last Donut

2:15 p.m.: No one ever wants to take the last one.

Day 106 - Pink Flower

Despite it being very hot and dry over the past couple of weeks, and our lack of landscaping maintenance, the flowers in our yard seem to be doing exceptionally well. We haven't even so much as watered them for the past several days, and they look better than they ever have. Go figure.
